James and I were at Bunnings shortly after 7 and unpacked the food and eskies. We were starting to cook and Terry appeared ready for action.
A short time later we were joined by the rest of the first shift, a prospective member, Jane, Bill and Janine. Jane took over the cooking and James and I disappeared home for a while to think about packing for our next expedition.
By about 10:30, supplies were running low so we returned via Coles. Jane had cooked most of the sausages and David had stepped up to the plate to do the next shift. Shift 2 consisting of Heather, David and Janine (who did a double shift) were a fantastic team, with James and I helping as required.
Shift 3 with Jenny, who took over the plate, Graeme F - who turned up with an injured foot (and a stool to sit on), James and I. A short time later James headed out for the next top up - it is really hard to know what to expect - and we were steadily busy to 3pm. It got really quiet and there were 48 sausages cooked or nearly done. We started to tidy up but then it hit - the final run home! If we had more supplies we could have sold an additional 50 or so sausages!
There was very little waste and we had a great day of fellowship. There are more events and so a great opportunity to have a go and develop your skills!

Meeting venue review

Rotary Friendship Exchange
A team of 12 Rotarians in Canada (6 from Manitoba, four from Saskatchewan and two from NW Ontario) will be travelling to our District 9780, arriving March 7 and departing March 21, 2019.
The Rotary Club of Geelong East has the opportunity to host these Rotarians when they arrive on the 7th March for several days.
Hosting is of two kinds. First, is accommodation. There are five couples and two singles. We require accommodation for two nights for these people.
The second form of hosting may appeal to others. That it taking the visitors around Geelong and surrounding areas to the locations and events that they have shown an interest in.
Please email Warren Norton, should you be able to provide either or both forms of hosting.
Rotary Friendship Exchanges are two-way event.
An Australian team will travel to D5550 sometime during August-September 2019
Tentative Outbound Dates: Aug. 15 – 29, 2019. The Host Rotary Clubs will be Prince Albert, Hudson Bay, Melfort, and Saskatoon - Meewasin.
You could be part of that team. You need to advise Warren or Gail Barrett, the Chair of the Rotary Friendship Exchange in District 9780. You should not leave it too late to register your interest.
Please consider both the inbound and outbound experiences and in particular, hosting these visiting Rotarians.
