The Ambulance Victoria Leaders' Mentoring Program
President David has more information if any members are interested in participating.
Nominations are being sought for Rotarians to become mentors in the inaugural Ambulance Victoria Leaders Mentoring Program for 2018 -19.
A Partnership
Ambulance Victoria has established a partnership with Rotary Clubs in Victoria to deliver a formal leadership mentoring program. This new program is modelled on the very successful Victoria Police Leaders Mentoring Program but tailored to meet AV’s strategic people development objectives. The 2018/19 inaugural program will be a pilot with mentees drawn from AV’s operational ranks around Victoria. All Victorian Rotary Districts are expected to participate in this program. It will be overseen by a Steering Committee chaired by the AV Chief Operations Officer with membership from the AV Executive team and Rotary Central Melbourne and managed by a People and Culture Program manager.
Program Objectives
The Ambulance Victoria Strategic Plan 2017-2022 has four key priorities. They are;
· Delivering an exceptional patient experience,
· Building partnerships that make a difference,
· Creating a great place to work and
· Becoming a high performing organisation.
In support of these objectives the Plan calls for Leaders who;
· Engage the Community and connect people, ideas and systems.
· Build strategic partnerships to help achieve AV ‘s goals.
· Collaborate, form and value long term internal and external relationships.
· Exemplify behaviours that engage, motivate and inspire others.
· Demonstrate high levels of insight and self awareness.
· Show resilience, determination and composure.
The mentoring program is designed to bring diverse perspectives and experiences from outside Ambulance Victoria to benefit the capability of mentees in meeting these challenges. It is because of Rotary’s commitment to community service and its leadership through volunteerism that it is invited to provide mentors. Additionally the professional and vocational experience of many Rotarians is invaluable to the mentoring relationship.
