The Evening’s Activity – Committee Meetings and Club Assembly
Members met in their service committees and then President Tony convened our Club Assembly at which members were invited to bring forward any matter for discussion.
Peter Cook is chairing the Club’s Venue and Menu Committee and we can all provide our ideas on these things to Peter.
Diversity in our membership is important – it means that the ideals of Rotary friendship and service are shared more broadly and our Club and we as members benefit from the fellowship of a greater range of people with different life experiences and cultural backgrounds.
Let’s focus on recycling and reducing waste and set an example by working to a waste-free Hamburger Stand.

Announcements, News and Help Required

Parking changes
We need to note that parking on the north side of our meeting venue will be unavailable for some time due to building works.
We should park on the Boundary Road side.

Geelong Show – Hamburger Stand
Please indicate your availability via Club Runner or contact Yannick direct.
Sunday morning is in need of workers and a “Go-fer” is required for each day.

Our Progressive Dinner
We enjoyed great food and fellowship last Saturday and we thank David & Liz, Jane & Robert, Robyn, Bruce & Karen and Tony and Chris for their hospitality.

Ballarat South Raffle
Robert Wheeler and James Dunlop are looking after this important aspect of our Club’s fundraising this year.
The Club’s allocation of tickets has arrived and members are asked to take such number of books of tickets as they consider they can sell.
Selling to the public will commence at Dan Murphy’s in Pakington Street after the Geelong Show.

Lithuanian Dance Group Fundraiser
The Lithuanian Community Dance Group will travel to Argentina in January to perform, demonstrate and teach their world-renowned dancing.
The Rotary Club of Geelong East has through International Service Committee supported them with a $500.00, funds raised at last year’s International Dinner
The Lithuanian Community Dance Group is holding a fundraiser on Sunday 10th November.  It will consist of a dancing display and afternoon tea.
The event will be held at 3.00pm and at Pettitt Park Hall in Beauford Avenue, Bell Post Hill.
Members are encouraged to attend and support this group.
Bookings can be made by calling Lucy on 0418 528 388.  If there is no answer leave your name and number and Lucy will call you back.

Our Fifty Years Celebration – 23 February 2020
Earlier we were sent an email to put aside a date in February 2020 to join with the members, past members and friends of The Rotary Club of Geelong East in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the club.
The date has had to be changed.  The new date is 23rd February, 2020.  That is two days after our actual Charter Anniversary and is the date of Rotary International's birthday.
Please put aside the date and the organising committee will keep us informed of additional information over the next few months.
