Last Week's Program

Last Week's Activity – AGM and Rotary Foundation
Rotarians are movers…and seconders
We had our Annual General Meeting last week and, with the exception of a president-elect, we have all the Board positions filled for 2020-2021.
A full Board in Yannick’s year is a testament to her enthusiasm and ability to inspire others.
The person who follows her to presidential office in 2020-2021 will have the benefit of her support and experience and can bask in the reflected glory of her achievements…so what are you waiting for!
We were also moved by the story of Ann Lee Hussey, a childhood polio survivor who, after joining Rotary in 2002, has taken her passion for polio eradication across the world through her public speaking and participation in over 16 National Immunization Days.
We are encouraged to make a special effort through our contributions to The Rotary Foundation to support the work of Rotarian volunteers and Rotary’s partners in the push to End Polio.
A few dollars from us can make the world different.

Our Fifty Years Celebration – 23 February 2020
This is the date to join with the members, past members and friends of The Rotary Club of Geelong East in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the club.
That is two days after our actual Charter Anniversary and is the date of Rotary International's birthday.
Please put aside the date and the organising committee will keep us informed of additional information over the next few months.

Re-badging
If you ask nicely, Past President David Sykes can procure you a new badge.
It will have your name on it. It will be clean and modern and magnetic. It will not be big and round like the old blokes’ badges that make you look like a street sign!

Snagging a spot at Bunnings
Help feed the hungry shoppers at Bunnings on 23 December.

Let’s get quizzical
Our recent Trivia Night made $1,500.00.
Special thanks to Yannick for organising and for Quiz Master Gary Newton’s excellent range of questions.
