Last Week's Program

Our meeting of 4 June
Yannick was our chair for the evening.
We welcomed Honorary Members Lyn Fleet, Dorothy Sinclair and Judy Innes and with numerous other guests and partners, we enjoyed our very entertaining auctioneer Laurent Franklin whose quick wit combined with the generosity of those bidding gave a great boost to our fundraising.
Thanks also to those who donated items for auction and special thanks to Yannick and the Fundraising Committee and Allanah for making the evening a fun and profitable occasion.
Graham Ritchie from Sailability was presented with a cheque for $6,500.00 from our Club’s recent fundraising dinner auction.
Past President Bruce King encouraged us to visit and see the program in action on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during daylight saving time when Graham and his volunteers take great pride in helping those with a range of disabilities getting on to the water.

Announcements, News and Help Required

Sausage Drama
Yannick (our Club’s Fundraising Committee chair) thanks everyone who volunteered for the Waurn Ponds Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on Sunday 2 June.
The day’s effort raised a net $1,500.00 and for those Cats fans, that included an order of 4 snags and onions from Tom Hawkins!
Editor’s question: Did a WAG get a snag?
So, if you want to be in the scene and mix with the stars, get yourself on the roster at the next Sausage Sizzle on Saturday 6th July in Leopold!
To volunteer, go to Clubrunner or contact Yannick.

Rotaract News
Brendan Holland on behalf of the Rotaract Club of Barwon invites members of our Club to attend the upcoming Rotaract Club Changeover.
This event will give us the opportunity to thank Michelle Conner for her year as President and wish incoming President Duncan Silcock all the best.
The event is on Saturday 29th June at 5.00 pm at Little Creatures, 221 Swanston Street, Geelong.
We can order food and drinks ordered off the menu at our own expense.
This year, the Rotaractors are aiming for a relaxed social and informal changeover event and will have a short 15 – 20 minutes of changeover formality before enjoying the vibe and atmosphere of Little Creatures.
We are encouraged to invite anyone along who might be interested in meeting the Rotaractors and joining Rotaract.

Dinner Fees Payable Now By Card
We now have the option of paying for our meals by ‘tap and pay’ with no cash required.

The 2019-2020 membership fees
Membership fees for 2019-2020 will be set at $270.00 full fee and $245.00 with concession.

Position, position, position
President Elect (PE) Tony has invited us to indicate our choice of Club (and if we are so inclined, District) roles in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 Rotary years.
There is a task to suit, inspire and satisfy us all so fill in that form and get it back to PE Tony.

Club Runner Changes
The website has been reorganised and all chairs of committee are asked to make sure the information in their section is relevant, accurate and up to date, with current important documents to be uploaded. Help is available if required.

Vocational Visit and Pride and Professionalism Award
Members interested in attending the presentation of Pride & Professionalism Award to the Andrew Love Cancer Centre (“ALCC”), please advise Warren Norton by email (wnorton@iprimus.com.au) of you intend to attend.
The event will commence at 11.00 am on Thursday 27th June.
There will be no tour of the new facility, as it is used by patients during the daytime.
The presentation of the Award will be made by the Club and this will be followed by a short presentation by a representative of the ALCC.
We then have an opportunity to speak with a number of people who work in different fields within ALCC.

The Club’s new website
Our Club’s webpage has been updated and service committee chairs can place stories there regarding their projects and activities
This is our public face and Warren and Gary can help members write those stories.
Remember that the Bulletin is for internal Club communication.

Assisting in our community
We have been asked by the St. Albans Football Club and the Newcomb Football Club to assist in looking after the gate at home games.
The job is to take the admission cost as vehicles enter.
If you would like to assist, contact President David.
Another person to assist on 15 June would be appreciated.
The dates our Club is rostered on are set out in the Bulletin’s “Upcoming Events” section.
The football volunteers are getting around $200.00 for each week we provide the service.
