Rotary Friendship Exchange
A team of 12 Rotarians in Canada (6 from Manitoba, four from Saskatchewan and two from NW Ontario) will be travelling to our District 9780, arriving March 7 and departing March 21, 2019.
The Rotary Club of Geelong East has the opportunity to host these Rotarians when they arrive on the 7th March for several days. Hosting is of two kinds. First, is accommodation. There are five couples and two singles. We require accommodation for two nights for these people.
The second form of hosting may appeal to others. That it taking the visitors around Geelong and surrounding areas to the locations and events that they have shown an interest in.
Please email Warren Norton, should you be able to provide either or both forms of hosting.
Rotary Friendship Exchanges are two-way event.
An Australian team will travel to D5550 sometime during August-September 2019
Tentative Outbound Dates: Aug. 15 – 29, 2019. The Host Rotary Clubs will be Prince Albert, Hudson Bay, Melfort, and Saskatoon - Meewasin.
You could be part of that team. You need to advise Warren or Gail Barrett, the Chair of the Rotary Friendship Exchange in District 9780. You should not leave it too late to register your interest.
Please consider both the inbound and outbound experiences and in particular, hosting these visiting Rotarians.

Fundraising - The Ballarat South Raffle Report
James Dunlop reported that our butts, books and bucks are required by the end of this month to give enough time to have them to Ballarat for the draw.
With $3,620.00 raised so far from sales plus over $100.00 in donations, it looks like being another great fundraiser for our Club.
Special thanks to all who have sold and particularly to Robert Wheeler for his efforts
Fundraising – The Sausage Effect
Yannick reported that the Bunnings BBQ events are producing very good results which, with the Geelong Classic Truck and Machinery Show catering at the Showgrounds on 12 and 13 January, demonstrates the importance of the banger to the “not for profit” sector.

We have the 13 April dinner auction coming up for which auction items are required. See Yannick or another Fundraising Committee member.
