This Rotary year (July 2020 – June 2021), Rotarians in Australia and New Zealand, celebrate one hundred years of service to their communities, nation and the world.

The Governor General, His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) launched the year of activity for the Rotary Clubs of Australia and New Zealand on Wednesday 8th July.

Clubs in both countries are combining for a Pacific-wide project to provide 100,000 vaccinations to children.  One in eight children in Pacific countries dies before the age of five, most from preventable diseases.

Australian clubs will combine to eradicate Trachoma from the country.  This eye disease impacts mainly on indigenous children. Left untreated, it is likely to cause blindness.

Keep an eye out for the many additional local community projects that Rotary clubs will be carrying out all throughout Australia and New Zealand.
