Welcome to The Rotary Foundation Page of RC Geelong East
The Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary’s charity. Through the
Rotary Foundation, clubs such as The Rotary Club of Geelong East are actively involved
in both raising and spending funds to develop communities locally and
internationally.
The Rotary Club of Geelong East has been particularly active
in the Rotary Foundation and has won awards for that involvement.
Past activities have included the provision of Water Wells
in African countries, supplies for schools and hospitals, Donations in Kind and
Polio Eradication.
The club is the highest contributor to the current Gates
Challenge to raise funds for the last push to eradicate Polio from the earth.
Over the years 2011/12 and 2012/13 the club will be
educating its members in the changes taking place in The Rotary Foundation
under the Future Vision pilot program.
The changes are significant and will impact on how the club interacts
with other clubs in the world in planning and implementing projects and
programs.
The Future Vision has six areas of focus. They are:
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
- Economic and community development
